Description of the exhibition model of the company BUDDE Fördertechnik GmbH

The topic focal point of the exhibition stand of the company BUDDE Fördertechnik GmbH was this year placed on commission (order picking) systems for containers. In order to interlink individual workstations in commissioning centres, specialised conveyor elements are required that can filter out containers from the volume stream in accordance with predefined criteria. The filtering or diverting criteria are in each instance specified in accordance with client wishes.

In the case illustrated at the exhibition, the determined weight of the individual containers is utilised in order to determine its transportation route. In reality, this configuration could serve as a final monitoring station that provides a variance comparison of the commissioned consignment. In order to recombine the separated volume stream, a vertical distributing guide is used here. The containers filled to different weight volumes are weighed while stationary on a "power-compensation" weighing scale.

During the weighing process, the volume of the container is additionally established. The weight data are compared to an internal table, and it is then stipulated which direction the container should take.

Light containers (<= 10 kg) take the upper route
Heavy containers (>= 10kg) take the lower route

Both on the upper and lower route, the containers are repeatedly turned by 90° and buffered up without accumulation pressure. Integration is realised by means of a vertical distributing guide. The guide operates according to the fifo (first in - first out) principle. This means that the first container at the point of transfer also becomes the first to be transferred and transported onwards. The containers subsequently run through a 180° bend and then once again reach the scale.

Specification of the conveyors

  • Roller conveyors, round belt driven
driven vertical shaft with round belt to each idler.
  • Roller accumulating conveyor with axial cylinder motor
Axial cylinder motor in the idler, drive transfer from roller to roller by means of round belts Roller conveyor flap component: Axial cylinder motor in the idler, drive transfer from roller to roller by means of round belts flap movement pneumatically supported.
  • Traverser, pneumatic
a pneumatically operated rake pushes the unitised package to the opposite side. Subsequently, the rake is withdrawn beneath the level of the rollers and continues onwards.
  • Slider, pneumatic
a piston rod free pneumatic cylinder slides the unitised package onwards by a cylinder upstroke.
  • Round belt traverser
a number of driven round belts guided on a walking beam are pneumatically lifted and pull or push a unitised package onto another conveyor.
  • Vertical distributing guide
Belt conveyor that executes an upward and downward movement at the feeding side by means of a crank mechanism. During continuous operation, a number of transfer stations can be started up.
  • Belt conveyors
slide ablated conveyor belt, drive motor directly on the driving drum.
